Punta Sabbioni ·

Your starting point on the lagoon

Punta Sabbioni.
Venice starts here.

Plan the practical part of your visit: choosing a boat, arranging your arrival and leaving enough time to enjoy Venice. A little preparation makes the return journey easier, too.

01 / Choose the right crossing

Start with where you want to arrive.

Punta Sabbioni combines a bus terminal, car parks and ACTV water connections with Venice. Your destination within Venice matters: choose the landing point that suits your first stop, then check the service for your travel date.

SAN MARCO AREA

Look at
ACTV line 14.

Line 14 connects Punta Sabbioni with the Lido and the San Marco–San Zaccaria area. Check the current timetable, the direction and the stops of your departure before boarding.

NORTHERN LAGOON

Compare the
line 12 route.

For the northern lagoon and the Fondamente Nove side of Venice, consult the line 12 route and timetable. Confirm whether your planned journey is direct or needs a connection.

THE RETURN TRIP

Plan it before
you leave.

Save your return stop, departure time and a later alternative. Check the last suitable connection for your date, especially when coordinating with a bus or a car park’s closing time.

Route references: ACTV’s Punta Sabbioni stop map (PDF) and official navigation timetables. Use the latest service notices and signs at the terminal; departures and boarding points can change.

02 / Arrive without rushing

Parking is only
part of the journey.

If you are driving, compare the full cost and convenience of each car park rather than the headline price alone. Ask about the charging period, vehicle restrictions, opening hours and whether a reservation is needed for your date.

Check the walking route from the car park to your actual departure point. Allow time to park, handle luggage, find the correct boarding area and arrange your ticket. Do not plan on reaching the terminal at the boat’s departure time.

For a bus arrival, work backward from the boat you want and leave a connection buffer. Keep a backup departure in mind. If step-free boarding or luggage assistance matters to your group, confirm the arrangements with the transport operator before travel.

The official Punta Sabbioni arrival page is a starting point for the terminal and its connections. Confirm parking terms with the individual car park.

03 / Before boarding

Check what
your ticket covers.

  1. Identify the operator. Confirm that the ticket you are buying is valid on the specific boat and route you plan to use.
  2. Compare your actual journeys. List the outward crossing, any additional travel and the return. Compare those needs with the current single-journey or pass options.
  3. Check validity and use. Follow the operator’s instructions for activation or validation. Keep your ticket available throughout your journey.
  4. Check individual needs. Ask about child tickets, luggage, bicycles and accessibility where relevant; do not assume every ticket includes them.
  5. Save the details. Keep a copy of your route, return timetable and booking confirmation that you can access without relying on a live connection.
